This is an extremely basic, cheaply made knife. Only buy this knife if you do not plan on using it often. I guess it would be ok for the occasional job around the house. The blade has a high carbon content and will rust easily after exposure to fresh water. The stone that is included is a rough one and will not put a fine edge on the blade.

The US AF Survival Knife is a solid all-around performer. I use and abuse this knife for all sorts of jobs. It is hard to sharpen, but once you get it sharp it stays that way. It is small enough to use for utility purposes but large enough to use for self-defense if needed. Let’s put it this way, I keep two knives by my bed side. One is the Kabar USMC fighting knife (first choice for defense). The other is this one. I would recommend this knife for any outdoor/camping type who also once a military used spec.

This is an ideal survival knife. It is the sharpest knife I’ve ever received out of the box. The other side of the tip on the saw side is also sharpened. It is very sturdy, the grip is solid and excellent, won’t slip. The guard will keep you safe. The butcap can be used as a hammer or bludgeon. The blade is just long enough to be useful but not so big that it is too heavy or cumbersome. The blade shape is good for cutting. The sheath comes with a sharpening stone and the sheath itself is good, the knife won’t fall out even if you don’t button the strap, therefore you can wear it in quickdraw mode. This knife could be used for combat in an emergency, although is a little heavy for that, but as a general survival tool and backup fighter it gets 5 stars.
